Physical Training

Your sessions

True fitness is about a readiness for life. So our physical training sessions focus on helping you build the strength and confidence you need to manage the demands of work, enjoy experiences with friends and family, and pursue the hobbies and activities you love.

We use a mix of cardio work (jumping jacks, rowing, cycling, etc) to improve your heart health and blood pressure as well as your stamina, combined with resistance exercises (anything from basic sit-ups and lunges to sumo jumps or working with weights) to help you get stronger and more flexible and improve your balance. But we don’t have any set programmes or targets – we build each session around you, looking at where you’re starting from and where you want to get to.

Who you’ll have as your personal trainer will be partly down to availability, but if you’ve got a preference then just let us know – either way we’ll do our best to match you up with the team member whose approach suits you best. And all our trainers are happy to work with you in the Unlock Fitness space, come to your home, or even run a session over video, so you can always choose what suits your schedule.

Becky Dean

Becky’s been working as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor for almost 16 years, with a particular focus on pre- and post-natal health. She’s also run almost every kind of fitness class under the sun in her time, from Zumba and dance aerobics to spinning, body pump, and circuit training. She loves helping people find the joy in exercising, learning what motivates and interests them and seeing them get to a point where they actually enjoy their workouts.

Tight on time?

Ask us about our EMS body tech – a wearable Electrical Muscle Stimulator that helps you build strength better and faster. The vest works by sending small, painless, electrical impulses to your muscles to make them contract, while your personal trainer takes you through a mix of exercises – making your muscles work twice as hard without any extra effort from you. So when you work out for just 30 minutes while using the EMS your body gets the same benefit as if you’d worked out with weights for an hour, but with less stress on your joints and heart.
